Cavities

Cavities Are As Easy to Prevent as They Are to Treat

Perfect Smiles is Your Trusted Moore Family Dentist

When the tooth decays, it loses its shape and function, making it susceptible to sensitivity and damage. Eventually, after prolonged decay, a cavity may form. A dental filling, a common dental procedure, is the standard of care to help restore the tooth’s shape and prevent disease and further damage. Brushing your teeth for two minutes twice per day, including your tongue and gums, is a great habit (keep it up), but it’s simply not enough to prevent cavities from forming in, around, and on top of your teeth. Make sure you supplement your brushing sessions with flossing and mouthwash. Don’t forget that your teeth aren’t the only part of your mouth that needs brushing - brushing your tongue and gums is necessary for your oral hygiene.
